KARMA 2025: A Weekend of Pure Wave Adrenaline in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo!
Sun, sand, and perfect waves set the stage for the incredible Surf & Bodyboard Tournament "KARMA 2025," held on September 13th and 14th at the stunning Las Escolleras Beach Ixtapa. This event brought together 53 top athletes from Guerrero, Oaxaca, and Michoacán, turning the shore into a natural stadium buzzing with energy, excitement, and raw talent.
From technical shortboard maneuvers to the graceful flow of longboarding, each category showed why surfing is more than a sport—it’s a way of life. Athletes like Luigi Bustos (Oaxaca) in the men’s division and Kristal Hernández (Michoacán) in the women’s division left everyone in awe with their stunning performances. Meanwhile, in bodyboarding, Carlos Cruz (Michoacán) and Tanae Navarrete (Oaxaca) ruled the waves with power and style.
One of the most heartfelt moments was watching Raúl Monroy, with over 30 years of experience, take first place in bodysurf—a beautiful reminder that passion for the ocean knows no age.
The beach atmosphere was electric: families, tourists, and locals cheered on the competitors, soaked up the sun, and celebrated every wave like it was the last. SUP surf and SUP race categories added a thrilling touch of speed and balance, with local victories from Eathan Mancilla and Beatriz Pérez filling Zihuatanejo with pride.
